First Omicron Case Reported In Kerala; Patient Returned From UK

First Omicron case in Kerala: In a video, Health Minister Veena George said that the patient was a Kerala native who recently came from the UK.
The first case of COVID-19 variant Omicron has been confirmed in Kerala, state Health Minister Veena George said on Sunday. With this the total cases of the variant in India has reached 38.
In a video posted on her Facebook page, the minister said that the 39-year-old patient was a Kerala native who recently came from the United Kingdom.
Later, in a press release, the minister said the patient's wife and mother-in-law have tested positive for COVID-19 and are undergoing treatment.
All three are in a stable condition, she added.
