
First food aid in months reaches war-wracked Darfur

The World Food Program and World Relief distribute emergency food in Kulbus, West Darfur, Sudan, in late March 2024. The United Nations said on April 5, 2024, it has begun distributing food in Sudan’s war-ravaged Darfur province for the first time in months.
Warning that the war in Sudan risks triggering the world’s worst hunger crisis, the World Food Program said Friday that it finally has managed to bring desperately needed food aid into the war-wracked Darfur region for the first time in months.
