But more than 15 months after the pandemic halted the industry, the first big cruise ship is due to sail out of a US port on Saturday. Celebrity Edge is scheduled to sail from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale at 6 p.m. on a seven-night voyage with ports of call in Mexico and the Bahamas.
Visitors will now have to pay a fee on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth.
