Firefighters braved bitter cold as a fire raged through a warehouse in Winnipeg's North End Tuesday night.
According to the city's website, crews responded to the blaze on Jarvis Avenue, just west of King Street, shortly after 8 p.m.
The building was fully engulfed more than two hours later, as flames could be seen licking through second-floor windows and huge plumes of smoke billowed into the sky.
As many as 20 pieces of equipment were called in to fight the fire, including at least three ladder trucks, which poured water on the three-storey brick structure.
The fire took place on one of the coldest nights in recent weeks, with temperatures below –20 C and wind chills nearing the –30 mark.
