Fire at Kitchener encampment
CTV
Details are limited at this point, but the flames, which were captured on video, started around 7 a.m.
Flames tore through part of a small Kitchener encampment on Thursday morning.
Emergency responders were called around 7 a.m. to the corner of Victoria and Weber streets, near the Paramedics Services station, diagonally across from a larger tent community beside the Kitchener GO Station.
The city said the flames were put out quickly and no one was hurt.
The cause of the fire, they added, is undetermined at this point.
The damaged area was also fenced off.
Thursday's fire is at least the third one at a Waterloo Region encampment in the last six days.
On Saturday, flames destroyed two tents at the main Victoria and Weber encampment. No one was hurt. Officials said a cooking mishap started the fire.
