Sudbury police have closed Skead Road from Nickel Rim South Mine Road to MacLennan Mine Road following a fatal two-vehicle collision early Saturday morning.
Sudbury police have closed Skead Road (MR86) from Nickel Rim South Mine Road to MacLennan Mine Road following a fatal two-vehicle collision early Saturday morning.
Emergency crews received the call about the collision in the Greater Sudbury community of Falconbridge just before 3:30 a.m.
Both Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services and Fire Services attended the scene along with police to provide emergency medical care.
“One individual was pronounced deceased on scene,” said the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS), in a news release Saturday.
“Two other individuals were transported to HSN (Health Sciences North) to receive medical treatment.”
Police are not releasing the name of the deceased at this time but offered condolences to friends and family.
There is no word on the extent of the other injuries.
