Dan Forester has already “watched” the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, more than a year before the mega tournament is scheduled to be held. Sounds strange, but this is what unfolds in The Tomorrow War, a new American science fiction film starring well-known actor Chris Pratt as Forester. The film, currently showing on Amazon Prime Video, is about a group of time travellers who arrive from 2051 to deliver an urgent message: mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species in the future. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight, according to the online film database, IMDb. Among those recruited is Forester, a teacher and family man. To save the world for his young daughter, he teams up with a scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J K Simmons) in a quest to rewrite the fate of the planet. In the film, Forester could be seen watching a World Cup 2022 game on television when the time travellers arrive at the packed stadium through a portal and interrupt the match to warn that humanity is on the brink of extinction due to a war with alien invaders referred to as the ‘Whitespikes’. Besides the World Cup, which seemingly plays a key role in the events of the film, The Tomorrow War has another Qatar connection thanks to Katara Studios, a film and music production and post-production facility. “We at Katara Studios are hugely honoured to have played a small part in the production of Amazon Prime’s original latest worldwide release, The Tomorrow War, starring Chris Pratt, featuring an ensemble of a well-rounded cast,” Katara Studios said in a post on Facebook. “As the Doha unit, we conducted the production services for the team and want to say congratulations to the family behind this film and their release of a great movie,” it added.More Related News
