Family of man lodged in Abu Dhabi jail appeals to Union minister for help

The man, Haridas, was sentenced to four years in prison and asked to submit a fine of two lakh dirham for allegedly killing one of his roommates in Abu Dhabi. His family in Punjab has appealed to Hoshiarpur MP Som Parkash to help him return to India as they are unable to pay for the fine.

The family of a man who is lodged in a jail in Abu Dhabi has appealed to Union minister and Hoshiarpur MP Som Parkash to help bring their son back to India. Haridas, 25, went to Abu Dhabi in 2014 to earn a living where he used to share a room with three other men belonging from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Once, they got into an argument and the Bangladeshi man got killed in the fight that ensued.
