
FAA: Small Plane Carrying 8 Crashes At Airport In Maine

Federal authorities are investigating the incident, which reportedly occurred during takeoff.
A small plane carrying eight people crashed at Bangor International Airport in Bangor, Maine, on Sunday evening, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The plane, a Bombardier Challenger 650 business jet, reportedly went down during takeoff at around 7:45 p.m. It’s unclear if there were any injuries or fatalities.
“AN INCIDENT AT THE AIRPORT IS UNDER INVESTIGATION. FIRST RESPONDERS ARE ON SCENE AND ASSESSING THE SITUATION,” Bangor International Airport, which is now closed, said in a Facebook post at 8:25 p.m.
The FAA said it will investigate the crash with the National Transportation Safety Board, and expects to release a preliminary report on the incident within the next business day.
There were multiple reports about the crash, including one from ABC News affiliate WMTW that included images of emergency vehicles and smoke on the runway.
