Fox News
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto argued that the European Union defines democracy as a liberal government in power, but that Hungary has progressive policies, too.
Peter Aitken is a Fox News Digital reporter with a focus on national and global news.
"Under the term of President Trump, we had the best-ever political relationship between the two countries, [the] best-ever relationship," he continued. "We respect President Trump a lot."
When asked if Hungary would like to see Trump return to the White House, Szijjarto said he could only say that he was "pretty sure" the same "best" relationship between the U.S. and Hungary would resume if the former president runs and wins in 2024.
