Emergency responders descend on HMP in St. John's

There is a large emergency response happening Friday evening at Her Majesty’s Penitentiary in St. John’s, though the nature of the situation is not immediately clear.
Paramedics waited in the parking lot and on the road outside the prison while multiple Royal Newfoundland Constabulary cruisers came on scene. Correctional officers arrived in their personal vehicles and went inside the penitentiary at around 8:30 p.m.
