Duo from Manipur held with 49 gold bars worth Rs 3.8 crore in Assam's Karbi Anglong

Two men from Manipur were apprehended with 49 gold bars worth Rs 3.8 crore in Assam's Karbi Anglong district on Saturday night.
Assam Police on Saturday night recovered 49 gold bars weighing 8 kg worth around Rs 3.86 crore in the state's Karbi Anglong district. Two people who were intercepted with the gold bars in a four-wheeler have also been arrested and their vehicle impounded.
Officials said that the vehicle bearing registration number 'AS-01 EV-2350' was stopped during routine checking at Dilai Tiniali near Bokajan in Karbi Anglong on Saturday night. Upon a search of the vehicle, the police recovered 49 bars of gold weighing 8 kg.
