Duhail appoint Castro as coach

QNB Stars League side Al Duhail named Luis Castro as their new coach on a one-year contract on Tuesday. The 59-year-old Portuguese replaces Sabri Lamouchi, after the Frenchman left the club by mutual consent. Castro left Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine at the end of last season, opting to not renew his contract with the club where he worked for two seasons and won the Ukrainian championship. Castro has more than 20 years of experience as coach across Europe. Castro, who has managed FC Porto, Rio Ave and Vitoria de Guimaraes in past, will be the second Portuguese to take over the reins of coach Duhail after Rui Faria, who was in charge of one year. Duhail had earlier last month signed defender Toby Alderweireld from English club Tottenham. The Belgian, 32, who joined Spurs in 2015, made 236 appearances for Spurs.
