
Dozens of prominent veterans sign onto letter supporting 'outstanding' Hegseth nomination amid controversies

President-elect Donald Trump's Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth received a boost Friday from more than 60 retired servicemembers of prominence who defended him against attacks.
"As military veterans and patriotic Americans, we are pleased to see an outstanding veteran nominated to lead the Department of Defense," the letter begins. Charles Creitz is a reporter for Fox News Digital.
"Hegseth is a decorated combat veteran who served as an Infantry Officer in the Army National Guard, deploying overseas to combat zones in Iraq and Afghanistan, earning two Bronze Stars and a Combat Infantryman Badge." He joined Fox News in 2013 as a writer and production assistant.
