Rome: Italian international goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma will undergo a medical and sign for Manchester City on transfer deadline day, his national coach Gennaro Gattuso said Monday.
Gattuso was speaking after reports that the Premier League side have agreed a 35-million-euro ($41 million) deal with Paris Saint-Germain for a player they consider surplus to requirements since the arrival of French 'keeper Lucas Chevalier.
"Donnarumma has to sort out a few things, do his medical and then sign his contract with Manchester City," Gattuso said when asked to give an update on his squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying matches.
The 26-year-old Italian international played a leading role in helping PSG win the Champions League last season.
But PSG signed 23-year-old Chevalier from Lille during the close season and coach Luis Enrique has made clear the Frenchman will be his number one choice.
