
Domingo German wants to ‘turn the page’ amid Yankees return

Domingo German has been waiting 19 months to return to the Yankee Stadium mound. His wait is over.
The 28-year-old right-hander will take the ball for the Yankees on Sunday afternoon against the Blue Jays, his first appearance since Sept. 18, 2019. Shortly after that, he was put on administrative leave while Major League Baseball investigated an alleged domestic violence incident involving his girlfriend. He missed the end of the Yankees season, including the postseason, and was then suspended for 81 games on Jan. 2, 2020. The ban cost him the entire 2020 season and postseason.
SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.
