DL, RC, other vehicle documents' validity extended till September 30

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said that the extension has been provided to the documents pertaining to Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989.
In view of the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Central government today extended the validity of important vehicle documents, including driving licences (DLs) and registration certificates (RCs), till September 30, 2021. Taking into consideration the need to prevent the spread of COVID-19, MoRT&H has advised the Enforcement Authorities that the validity of Fitness, Permit (all types), License, Registration or any other concerned document(s) may be treated to be valid till 30th Sept, 2021. pic.twitter.com/xe6QIvks5T This covers all documents whose validity has expired since 1st Feb, 2020 or would expire by 30th September 2021. This will help out citizens in availing transport related services, while maintaining social distancing. In an advisory, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) said that the extension has been provided to the documents pertaining to Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989. Among the documents are DLs, RCs, fitness certificates and all kinds of permits. The extension is only for the documents whose validity has expired since February 1, 2020, or would lapse by September 30, 2021. MoRTH has advised the enforcement authorities to treat such documents as valid till September 30, 2021.More Related News
