Die Frauenärztin von Franca S. war sich sicher, erzählt die heute 38-Jährige. Sie und ihr Mann Gábor sollten ein Mädchen kriegen. Sie entschieden sich für den Namen Réka. Doch nach der Geburt folgte die Überraschung: Die Ärzte konnten das Geschlecht nicht eindeutig bestimmen. Sie waren ratlos, da das äußere Genital typische Merkmale eines Jungen und eines Mädchens aufwies.
“Auch wir waren überfordert, hatten vorher nichts von intergeschlechtlichen Kindern gehört. Ob Junge oder Mädchen war uns nicht wichtig. Wir wollten nur, dass unser Baby gesund ist”, erinnert sich der 42-jährige Vater zurück. Sie spürten trotz der Freude über das erste Kind Angst. Welche Auswirkungen könnte der Befund haben?
