Delhi Police’s Cyber Crime Cell has busted a Rajasthan-based ‘sextortion’ racket that used morphed videos of victims and extorted them for money. One person has been arrested and raids are underway to nab three other suspects.
The matter came to light after CyPAD (Cyber Preventation Awareness Detection) of Delhi Police received a complaint in which the victim alleged he had got a friend request on Facebook from a person who also sought his WhatsApp number. After a while, he received a video call on WhatsApp with pornographic content. Some time later, he received a morphed video of himself having sexual content.
