Delhi logs 24,383 new Covid cases; positivity rate exceeds 30%

With 24,383 new cases recorded, Delhi's daily Covid-19 positivity rate was 30.64 per cent on Friday, the highest since May of last year.
Delhi on Friday logged 24,383 new confirmed cases of infection, another 26,236 recoveries and 34 more Covid-related deaths. The new cases pushed the daily positivity rate in the national capital to 30.64 per cent, the highest since May 1 last year when it was 31.6 per cent. The daily positivity rate indicates the percentage of people who test positive for Covid-19 out of all the tests conducted on that given day. While the daily positivity rate now stands at 30.64 per cent, the cumulative positivity rate in Delhi stands at 4.94 per cent and the case fatality rate at 1.51 per cent.
