Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday said that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will bulldoze 1750 unauthorised colonies.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday said that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will bulldoze 1750 unauthorised colonies making 50 lakh people homeless.
Sisodia also said that the BJP-ruled civic bodies had issued notices to over 3 lakh people in the last two years.
According to him, the MCD intends to do “bulldozer politics” and create a mess in Delhi. He alleged the officials of accepting bribes and said, “In the past 15 years, their councillors, mayors, officials took bribes and allowed these constructions. And now they want to run bulldozers on these establishments.”

He said he will write a letter to the central government to take action against the corrupt officials saying that this “extortion racket and ‘dabangai’ need to stop.” He added, “On one side they (BJP) are promising to regularise the unauthorised colonies, on the other side they are handing over notices to the households.”
Sisodia’s comments came after the South Delhi Municipal Corporation anti demolition drive in the Kalindi Kunj-Jamia Nagar area near Shaheen Bagh was deferred on Thursday.
