Once-powerful former Roman Catholic Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, who is now 91, pleaded not guilty on Friday to sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy during a wedding reception in Massachusetts nearly 50 years ago.
He did not speak during the brief hearing, where his attorney entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf. McCarrick was released on $5,000 bail, and was ordered to stay away from the victim and any person under the age of 18, and to surrender his passport.More Related News
