IPL 2022, DC vs SRH: Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson heaped praise on Delhi Capitals batters David Warner and Rovman Powell following a 21-run defeat. Warner (92 not out) and Powell (67 not out) were involved in a 122-run unbroken stand for the fourth wicket for DC.
Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson credited David Warner and Rovman Powell for their blistering knocks scripted a 21-run win for Delhi Capitals at the Brabourne Stadium on Thursday.
David Warner smashed an unbeaten 92 off 58 balls against his old team while Rovman Powell hit an unbeaten 67 off only 35 balls as DC raced to 207 for 3 off their 20 overs. SRH managed only 186 for 8 in their 20 overs despite strong efforts from two of their star batters.
Kane Williamson said the contributions from Warner and Powell was the difference between the two sides at the end.
"An outstanding knock from David Warner and Powell at the end, two great contributions that went a long way toward them winning the game," Williamson told Star Sports after the match.
Kane Williamson conceded Delhi Capitals had a good total and his batters needed to show some belief in a stiff chase.
"I think they had a fantastic total at the halfway stage. Having said that, as a batting unit you want belief and there was a lot of belief.
"It's a pretty small ground and there was a little bit of dew. Had we kept wickets in hand.. then who knows," he said.
