David Bednar one of three Yankees relievers getting pay raise in arbitration
NY Post
The Yankees avoided arbitration with eight players Thursday, with three relievers acquired at last year’s trade deadline among those receiving raises.
David Bednar will receive $9 million, according to reports. Camillo Doval will receive $6.1 million and Jake Bird will receive $1 million.
Also avoiding arbitration were José Caballero, Jazz Chisholm Jr., Fernando Cruz, Luis Gil and Anthony Volpe.
Bednar arrived from the Pirates at the trade deadline and was a dependable arm down the stretch, posting a 2.19 ERA in 22 appearances with 10 saves.
The right-hander earned $5.9 million last season.
The Yankees acquired Doval at the trade deadline from the Giants and received disappointing results from the right-hander.
