Dark clouds loom over Hyderabad as light rain is forecast for parts of GHMC on February 25 afternoon.
Some parts of Hyderabad turned gloomy on Wednesday (February 25, 2026) afternoon as clouds took over the sky. India Meteorological Department - Hyderabad Centre issued an alert around 2.17 p.m. predicting light rain or thundershowers in parts of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) over the next couple of hours.
Serilingampally, Qutbullapur, Kukatpally,Khairatabad,Patancheru and Alwal were forecast to receive the showers. No part of the GHMC received rain till 2.45 p.m., according to Telangana Development Planning Society’s weather observations.
The Hyderabad Centre has also forecast, for Wednesday to Thursday morning (8.30 a.m.), thunderstorms accompanied with lightening as very likely at isolated places in Sangareddy, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Medak, Kamareddy and Mahabubnagar,
Hyderabad received its first spell of rain in the year on Monday evening, followed by showers in the peripheral areas on Tuesday morning.
