'Dangal' girls Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra join 'Sam Bahadur' cast

Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra have previously starred togther in 'Dangal' and 'Ludo'. This will be their third film together.

MUMBAI: 'Dangal' duo Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra have come on board for director Meghna Gulzar's 'Sam Bahadur', which is based on the life of one of India`s greatest war heroes, late Army Chief General Sam Manekshaw.

After 'Dangal' and 'Ludo', this will be their Fatima and Sanya's third film together. The announcement coincides with Meghna Gulzar's birthday as the country approaches the 50th anniversary of the 1971 Bangladesh liberation war on December 16.

While Vicky Kaushal brings General Sam Manekshaw's character to life, Sanya Malhotra will play his wife, Silloo, Manekshaw's pillar and strength. Fatima Sana Shaikh steps into the shoes of Indira Gandhi, the country's first female Prime Minister.
