Doha, Qatar: The Social Sport Contribution Fund (Daam) has signed a funding agreement with the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) to support the 15th edition of Al Galayel Championship 2026, marking the fifth consecutive year of support.

Under the agreement, the Fund will contribute to supporting the championship and providing prizes for the winners and participants.

This agreement follows the success achieved by Daam’s support in the previous editions and underscores the pioneering role played by Daam and the joint-stock companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange in supporting cultural activities. This aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 and enhances the nation's cultural heritage in the world of falconry and hunting.

The championship is scheduled to take place from January 22 to February 12, 2026, at Al Eraiq Reserve in the southwest of Qatar. It will feature 16 teams of Qatari falconers, with each team consisting of 6 to 9 members divided into 4 groups.

Al Galayel is considered a Qatari heritage competition and one of the most significant and thrilling tournaments for practicing traditional hunting using methods known in Arab culture. It represents a living reality that reflects the skill of the Qatari falconer.
