Millionaire actress Cynthia Nixon has attacked stores for trying to stop shoplifters — sparking a massive Twitter backlash against her “moral grandstanding.” The “Sex and the City” star tweeted her outrage over shoplifters being prosecuted amid reports that Walgreens was shuttering 17 stores in San Francisco because of rampant theft.

"As so many families can’t make ends meet right now, I can’t imagine thinking that the way to solve the problem of people stealing basic necessities out of desperation is to prosecute them," she wrote.More Related News
