Cuomo Will Not Be Prosecuted in Groping Case, Albany D.A. Says
The New York Times
The district attorney described the woman who said former Gov. Andrew Cuomo had groped her as “credible,” but added that proving her allegation would be difficult.
Former Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo of New York will not be prosecuted in the criminal case involving allegations that he groped a former aide in the Executive Mansion in 2020, the Albany County District Attorney announced on Tuesday.
The decision marked the third time a district attorney has decided not to pursue a case against Mr. Cuomo, making it less likely that the former governor will face criminal culpability over his treatment of women.
The move to drop the case in Albany came days before Mr. Cuomo was set to be arraigned in court on Friday. In announcing the decision, the county prosecutor described the former aide, Brittany Commisso, as credible and said he was “deeply troubled by allegations like the ones at issue here.”
