Parents Ezzeddin and Midia are struggling to find basic medicine for their son, Tim. His plight and name parallel a modern-day version of the Charles Dickens character ‘Tiny Tim.’
Tim Alahmad suffers from epidermolysis bullosa, also known as butterfly syndrome.
The condition causes blistering sores, persistent itching and can prohibit swallowing. In severe cases like Tim’s, skin becomes as fragile butterfly wings.
For Ezzeddin, the pain of watching his son suffer from an inability to get care is heartbreaking.
