Covid surge: North Delhi Municipal Corporation to set up real-time monitoring system for cremation grounds

With a rapid rise in Covid-19 cases and deaths in Delhi, North Delhi Municipal Corporation has decided to set up a real-time monitoring system for cremation grounds so that citizens can access all the required information in one place.

In light of rapidly rising Covid-19 cases and deaths in Delhi, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (North DMC) has decided to create a real-time monitoring system and central control room for cremation grounds under its jurisdiction. All small and big crematorium grounds will be connected to this integrated system. Citizens will be able to access real-time information about the availability of space at the crematoriums. North DMC officials have been directed to develop a similar system for cemeteries as well. With this initiative, citizens will not have to wander around looking for space to cremate their loved ones. They will get information about all cremation grounds in one place.
