With vaccination picking up pace across the state, the Maharashtra government has decided to relax Covid induced restrictions in 11 districts of the state, including Pune, which has the second highest vaccination coverage after Mumbai.
Notably, Covid curbs have been eased only in those districts which have its 90 per cent of the population vaccinated with the first dose and 70 per cent of the population with both doses.
According to a report published in The Indian Express (IE), Covid curbs have been eased in 11 districts of the state including, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Mumbai, Sindhudurg, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Bhandara, Gondia and Chandrapur where the vaccination count is high.
- As per the revised orders, parks, safaris and tourist spots will be allowed to be opened across the state. However, the number of visitors will be restricted and they should be vaccinated.
- Spas have been allowed to operate with 50 per cent capacity.
- Restrictions on attending funerals have been removed.
- Public spaces including beaches, gardens, parks, restaurants, theatres and cultural halls are allowed to operate at 50 per cent capacity.
