Covaxin to be given only to second dose beneficiaries in 18-44 age group: Delhi govt
India Today
The Delhi government began vaccinating those in the 18-44 years age group on May 1. A month later, as many as 303 government centres meant for those aged above 45 years were suspended due to a shortage of Covaxin.
As the shortage of Covid-19 vaccines continues in the national capital, the Delhi government has ordered that Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin will only be administered to second dose beneficiaries in the 18-44 age group. In an order date June 6, 2021, Delhi chief secretary directed government-run vaccination centres in Delhi to give shots of Covaxin “only to those people who are eligible for receiving the second dose of vaccination in respect of the age group of 18-44 years during the month of June, 2021 or till further orders”. Private hospitals and nursing homes must also comply with this new order.More Related News
