Sanskriti Ranjan cleared the national Joint Entrance Examination for higher educational institutions with 92.77 percentile, ranking 2,062 in the Scheduled Caste category, but was unable to afford the prestigious Banaras Hindu University's admission fee.
A student who couldn't afford the fee after qualifying for the prestigious Banaras Hindu University (BHU) received Rs 15,000 from a court she had turned to for help.
Sanskriti Ranjan appeared before the Allahabad High Court on Monday with her petition asking for directions to the college to admit her.
She had cleared the JEE or the national Joint Entrance Examination for higher educational institutions. With 92.77 percentile, she ranked of 2,062 in the Scheduled Caste category.
But when she wanted to join the BHU's five-year course in Mathematics and Computing, she fell short of the admission fee.
