CBC
A Corner Brook man accused of shooting a man at a home last week has been denied bail.
Scott King, 36, faces multiple firearms charges stemming from the incident on Dec. 29, including breaking and entering, assault causing bodily harm, aggravated assault, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and careless use of a firearm among other charges.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a home on Parkwood Drive at around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 29, where they found a man with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound, a statement at the time said. The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
King, who had support in the Corner Brook provincial courtroom, let out a large sigh as the decision was read. He stayed in a corner of his courtroom box away from reporters for much of the decision reading process.
He is scheduled to appear in court next on Jan. 13.
