Confirmed! Rashmika Mandanna to star in Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, shoot begins this summer

Rashmika Mandanna has joined the cast of Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film’s shoot will start in summer.
On the occasion of Ugadi and Gudi Padwa (April 2), the makers of Animal announced that Rashmika Mandanna has joined the film’s cast. A directorial venture of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the crime drama also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Bobbly Deol.
Earlier, Parineeti Chopra opted out of Animal for Imtiaz Ali’s Chamkila. Now, the makers of the film have announced the new female lead as Rashmika Mandanna. The movie’s shoot will commence this summer as the release date stands to be August 11, 2023, for now.
The official handle of T-Series, which is backing Animal, made the announcement about Rashmika Mandanna joining the film’s team. The caption read, “On the auspicious occasion of Ugadi & Gudi Padwa, we welcome @rashmikamandanna to the team of #Animal! Shooting begins this summer (sic).”
Talking about his Animal, Ranbir Kapoor had said in an interview, “During the pandemic, we all got some time to introspect and choose films that are close to our hearts. So when Sandeep narrated the story, I grew close to the character and was immediately keen on doing the role. I’m a huge admirer of both of his movies and really looking forward to our creative collaboration. Bhushan sir is one of the producers who is backing strong, entertaining cinema and his immense knowledge of music will be seen in Animal. I am so grateful to work with such a great ensemble cast. I can’t wait to start shoot for Animal.”
