Confidence in Secret Service plunges after Trump assassination attempt, poll finds
Fox News
A new poll has found that a majority of Americans don't have high confidence in the Secret Service to protect presidential candidates before November's election.
The poll of 1,143 adults, which was conducted in the wake of Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle’s resignation, also uncovered that Democrats and Republicans are split on what is to blame for the Trump assassination attempt on July 13 in Butler. Greg Norman is a reporter at Fox News Digital.
Six in 10 Democrats say the availability of guns bears a great deal of responsibility, compared to about one-third of independents and 15% of Republicans. About half of Republicans think the Secret Service has a great deal of responsibility, compared to around 4 in 10 Democrats and independents.
