While commenting on Congress leader Salman Khurshid's remark on 'Hindutva' in his book which sparked controversy, senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said "comparing Hindutva with ISIS and Jihadist Islam is an exaggeration".
A row has erupted after senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid reportedly compared Hindutva with radical jihadist groups like ISIS and Boko Haram in his new book 'Sunrise Over Ayodhya'. In Mr. Salman Khursheed’s new book, we may not agree with Hindutva as a political ideology distinct from composite culture of Hinduism, but comparing Hindutva with ISIS and Jihadist Islam is factually wrong and an exaggeration. Congress’s Salman Khurshid in his new book writes that Hindutva is similar to the jihadist Islamist groups like ISIS and Biko Haram. What else can we expect from someone whose party coined the term Saffron terror just to draw equivalence with Islamic jihad, to get Muslim votes? pic.twitter.com/3OikNQJ3qt Salman Khursheed, close to the Gandhis, writes that Hindutva is similar to the jihadist Islamist groups like ISIS and Boko Haram.Ghulam Nabi Azad, member of G-23, calls it factually wrong and exaggeration. It would therefore be fair to assume that Khursheed is echoing Gandhis. pic.twitter.com/pPzpq9XYfu
