Commercial driver charged after near head-on collision on Hwy 17

Ontario Provincial Police released a video showing a commercial motor vehicle driver nearly colliding with another tractor-trailer on Highway 17 near Thessalon, Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) released a video showing a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) driver nearly colliding with another tractor-trailer on Highway 17 near Thessalon, Ont.

The timestamp on the video indicates the incident took place on April 29.

“East Algoma OPP have arrested and charged a CMV driver with numerous Highway Traffic Act and Criminal Code offences after a near head-on collision on Highway 17,” said police in a social media post on Saturday.

OPP said no one was injured in the incident.

“Drive safe, stay awake, drive sober and no distracted driving,” said police.
