Cloudburst In Himachal Pradesh's Rampur, Road Washed Away

The wet spell in Himachal Pradesh is likely to continue till August 22, the Met office has said.

The local Met office on Friday issued a 'yellow' alert for heavy rain in 10 of Himachal Pradesh's 12 districts till August 20 even as showers in parts of the state led to the closure of 58 roads.

A cloudburst in the Takloch area of Rampur subdivision of Shimla district late on Friday damaged a 30-metre stretch of road, a senior official said.

There are no reports of any casualty and a team led by the subdivisional magistrate has been rushed to the spot, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap said.
