
Class 12 Board exam results: Tamil Nadu records 95.03 pass percentage

Ariyalur district recorded the highest pass percentage of 98.8, while Erode district stood second, with 97.9% pass, as per the data.
Releasing the Class 12 exam results in Chennai, School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi urged students who missed the exam to appear for the upcoming supplementary exam.
The pass percentage this year has surpassed last year’s 94.56% by a small margin. However, the total number of students who took the public exams has continued to fall since the past two years, with this year’s number at 7,92,494, and 7,72,200 appearing for the exam last year.
Of the 7.92 lakh students who wrote the Class 12 public exams at 3,316 centres, 4.1 lakh were girls and 3.7 lakh boys. As many as 10,049 students did not attend the exam this year, which, according to the Minister, has decreased compared to last year’s 40,000.
Congratulating the students, the Minister, in a post on social media platform X, said: “We all have faith that students will continue to progress in their fields regardless of their grades.”
While 96.07% of girls cleared the exams, a total of 93.16% of boys passed the public examination.
As many as 2,638 schools of the total 7,513 schools in the State recorded a 100% pass. A total of 436 government schools recorded a cent per cent pass rate. Private schools outperformed other schools this year, with a pass percentage of 98.8.
