Class 12 Board exam results: Chennai Corporation schools register pass percentage of 88.12
The Greater Chennai Corporation’s (GCC) Education Department announced that 4,747 out of 5,387 students of GCC schools cleared the Class 12 public examination held in May 2025.
According to a press release, 2,328 boys and 3,059 girls from GCC schools appeared for the exams, and 1,949 boys and 2,798 girls passed. The overall pass percentage was 88.12, an increase from the previous year’s 87.13. The pass percentage among girls was 91.46, while it was 83.70 among boys.
In 2024, the pass percentage stood at 87.13, and at 86.86 in 2023. “All 35 higher secondary schools under GCC achieved over 65% pass percentage, even those in the extended areas,” said Joint Commissioner (Education) J. Vijayarani.
One school, Chennai Girls Higher Secondary School, Nungambakkam, recorded 100% pass. As many as 54 students secured full marks in individual subjects, including 26 in Computer Applications, 19 in Computer Science, three in Accountancy, two each in Chemistry and Economics, and one each in History and Geography. Of these, 15 were boys and 39 were girls.
According to the release, 65 students scored between 551 and 600 marks, 247 scored between 501 and 550, and 541 scored between 451 and 500.
Based on the pass percentage, the top five schools were Nungambakkam (100%), Puliyur (98.61%), Saidapet (97.36%), Nesapakkam (97.22%), and Thiruvanmiyur (95.59%).
