Doha: Beijing is set to host the World Humanoid Robot Games on August 15-17, 2025. This will be the first global sporting event dedicated solely to humanoid robots.
Reports said the games will feature 19 events across three main categories: athletic competitions, performance showcases, and scenario-based challenges.
Modeled on traditional human sports, the athletic events will include sprints, long jump, gymnastics and small-team football matches. More than 100 international teams will join the sports events.
The games, according to the organisers, aim to showcase the agility, coordination, and practical skills of humanoid robots, as well as showcase "China's dominance in the fields of AI and robotics."
