Chennai school teacher, accused of sexual misconduct, arrested days after social media stir

The Chennai school teacher, who was accused by a number of students of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behaviour, has been arrested.

The teacher of a top school in Chennai, who was accused of sexual misconduct by several students and was booked under Pocso sections, has been arrested. The arrest comes after several students of the Chennai school came out on social media narrating their personal accounts of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behaviour by the teacher both during physical and online classes. The teacher has been booked under Section 12 of the Pocso Act, and Sections 67, 67(a), 354 (a) and 509 of the IT Act. The commerce teacher at the noted Chennai school has been remanded to judicial custody and police will today file a petition for his custodial interrogation.
