Seven employees of the Yojana Bhawan having access to the basement have been detained for questioning, according to officials.
Over Rs 2.31 crore in cash and one kg of gold was recovered from a locked almirah in the basement of Yojana Bhawan in Jaipur, police said.

The trolley suitcase kept in the almirah contained Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 denomination notes, police said, adding that the recovery took place on a day when RBI withdrew Rs 2,000 currency notes from circulation.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was briefed about the matter following the seizure.
