Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price is voluntarily entering the NHL’s player assistance program for an unspecified reason, the team announced Thursday.
The NHL/NHLPA Players’ Association made the announcement Thursday morning.
General manager Marc Bergevin is addressing the media at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard, Que.
"It's hard," Bergevin said while trying to hold back tears.
The emotionally distraught coach commended Price for stepping back to deal with his struggle, without going into details about goaltender's departure.
