Calls to decriminalize prostitution becoming mainstreamed in Democratic Party with the support of Harris

Democrats increasingly move to decriminalize prostitution, an agenda that was previously more closely aligned with members of the radical-left "Squad," but has been encroaching into mainstream circles.
Most prominently, Vice President Kamala Harris came out in 2020 in support of decrim, the catch-all term used by activists to describe support for sex work, and proceeded to brag about how she refused to prosecute cases when she was a district attorney of San Francisco. "Back when I was DA… over 15 years ago… I was advocating then that we have to stop arresting these prostitutes," she said in an interview from 2020. "On the issue of providing a safe place for sex workers, I am a huge advocate for that. Always have."
