Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project: The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), responsible for executing the country's first bullet train corridor, invited bids for a major civil package (C-5) which includes the design and construction of civil and building work. According to a statement shared by NHSRCL, the infrastructure package also includes testing and commissioning the double line high-speed railway involving the Vadodara station, the confirmation car base, viaducts, and bridges (approximately 8.2 km). (Also Read: Bullet Train Project: Agreement Signed With Japanese Firm For Construction Of Tracks )As per details on the Central Public Procurement Portal, the closing date of the bids is set as October 4, 2021, and the opening date of the tender is October 5, 2021. The alignment of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor is kept straight to meet the speed requirement because of which, most of the alignment is passing through the green fields. According to NHSRCL, the alignment is diverted at Vadodara, Ahmedabad, and Sabarmati to bring the high-speed rail near to the stations so that the passengers can seamlessly change from one mode of transport to another.
