Bukele mocks Abrego Garcia's torture claims with prison highlight reel
Fox News
El Salvador President Nayib Bukele releases video refuting migrant Kilmar Abrego Garcia's torture claims, showing him playing soccer and enjoying leisure activities while imprisoned.
Michael Dorgan is a writer for Fox News Digital and Fox Business.
The video appears at odds with Abrego Garcia's claims in legal filings that he was severely beaten, deprived of sleep and psychologically tortured while detained. You can send tips to michael.dorgan@fox.com and follow him on Twitter @M_Dorgan.
Abrego Garcia was first held at the country’s Terrorism Confinement Center, or CECOT, a notorious anti-terrorism prison, in March and then transferred to a lower-security facility in Santa Ana in mid-April. Bukele does not say which prison the footage was taken from.
