Border Patrol encounters 10,000 migrants for third day in a row as numbers swell before Title 42 drops
Fox News
Customs and Border Protection have encountered over 10,000 migrants for the third day in a row, sources tell Fox News, ahead of the end of Title 42 later Thursday.
Currently, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has approximately 28,000 migrants in federal custody. Capacity across the southern border is about 10,000 and so multiple sectors are well over capacity right now. Adam Shaw is a politics reporter for Fox News Digital, primarily covering immigration and border security.
Fox is told that the priority right for the agency now is avoiding images of overcrowding and processing migrants as fast as possible. Authorities earlier this week green lit "safe" mass street releases if CBP and NGO partners are unable to hold them. It means that the largest wave of mass releases in history has already begun and will continue in the coming days. He can be reached at adam.shaw2@fox.com or on Twitter.
